Respectful Behavior in Sangam

Smara's Sangam communities are sacred spaces for devotees to connect, share, and grow in their spiritual practice. All members are expected to maintain a respectful and supportive environment.

Expected Conduct

  • Be respectful — Treat all members with courtesy and respect, regardless of their background, tradition, or level of practice.
  • Stay on topic — Keep discussions relevant to the Sangam's purpose and the broader devotional context.
  • Share thoughtfully — When sharing content, mantras, or guidance, ensure it is appropriate and accurate.
  • Support others — Encourage fellow devotees in their spiritual journey. Offer constructive and compassionate feedback.

Prohibited Behavior

The following are not permitted in any Sangam:

  • Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks
  • Hate speech or discrimination based on caste, region, gender, or sect
  • Spam, self-promotion, or unsolicited advertising
  • Sharing misleading or fabricated spiritual content
  • Sharing inappropriate, offensive, or non-devotional material

Consequences

Violations of community conduct standards may result in content removal, temporary muting, or permanent removal from the Sangam. Repeated violations may lead to account-level restrictions. See Account Restriction or Suspension.

Reporting Issues

If you witness behavior that violates these standards, use the in-app report feature or see How Moderation Works.
