Failed Payments

If your subscription payment fails, your access to premium features may be interrupted. Here is how to resolve payment issues.

Common Causes

  • Expired card — Your payment card on file has expired.
  • Insufficient funds — The account linked to your payment method does not have enough balance.
  • Card declined — Your bank or card issuer declined the transaction.
  • Outdated billing info — Your billing address or other payment details are out of date.

How to Fix

  1. Update your payment method — Go to your app store account and update your card or payment details.
    • Android — Google Play > Profile > Payments & subscriptions > Payment methods.
    • iOS — Settings > Apple ID > Payment & Shipping.
  2. Retry the payment — After updating, your app store will typically retry the charge automatically within a few days. You can also try restoring your purchase from within Smara.
  3. Contact your bank — If your card is being declined despite having funds, contact your bank to check for holds or blocks on app store transactions.

What Happens During a Payment Failure

  • Your premium access may be paused until the payment is resolved.
  • Your account and data remain intact — nothing is deleted due to a payment failure.
  • Once the payment succeeds, your premium features are restored automatically.
