Notifications Not Working
If you are not receiving notifications from Smara for events, sadhana reminders, or Panchang alerts, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Step 1: Check In-App Settings
Go to Profile > Notification Settings and verify that the notifications you expect are enabled. Make sure Quiet Hours are not active during the time you expect to receive notifications.
Step 2: Check Device Notification Settings
Android
- Go to Settings > Apps > Smara > Notifications.
- Ensure notifications are enabled for Smara.
- Check that individual notification channels (e.g., reminders, events) are not muted.
iOS
- Go to Settings > Notifications > Smara.
- Ensure Allow Notifications is turned on.
- Verify that the alert style, sounds, and badges are configured to your preference.
Step 3: Check Battery Optimization
Some devices aggressively restrict background activity to save battery, which can prevent notifications:
- Android — Go to Settings > Battery > Smara and set to "Unrestricted" or "Not optimized."
- iOS — Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh and ensure Smara is enabled.
Step 4: Reinstall the App
If notifications still do not work, uninstall and reinstall Smara. This resets notification permissions and can resolve issues caused by corrupted settings.
